It is evident now that only one of the eggs will be hatching. This means that all of the parents' attention will be given to the single chick. Below is a gallery of still images captured during a feeding session this morning. Enjoy!
Our single chick is doing very well. At this point it is safe to say that the second egg is infertile and will not hatch. Generally the eggs in a given clutch hatch within a day or so of each other. This ensures that there is not likely to be a "runt" of the clutch. With that said, the egg will likely be pushed out of the "nest" soon and will be ignored.
